Candle making....Belle&bee style.

This weekend it was a friend of mine's Birthday,so I decided to make a candle.
I had been wanting to try it and now I had a reason. I went to Hobby Lobby to see what they had.
I found a lovly jar and their candle making section. It seemed pretty easy to do. I chose to scent it with Gardenia
and luckily it smelled nice. You can't smell them at the store.
When it came to makeing the candle it was a little harder than I thought.
I tried to melt the wax crystals in the microwave but it never even got warm let alone hot enough to melt.
Plan B: I decided to melt it in a pot with boiling water. That worked but it still took a while.
Once I got it melted and poured the rest was easy. Just a little hot glue fabric scrapes and left over ribbon.
Wah Lah, a rather fun looking candle I think.

Having fun and helping out a friend!!!!!

 Cake pops
Oh yes. Cake pops, if you haven't had the pleasure of having one or three of these I just happen to know someone who can hook you up. Amerelda's is a great local baker that specialises in these highly addictive cake pops. I helped her with her marketing needs and these pictures are a sampleing of my work. Amy brought some for our Memorial BBQ
and let me just tell you they where a hit!!
For a look at her work check out amereldas.blogspot.com

My experimentation with short hair.....and I mean really short hair.

So, Im all for doing something unexpected every once in a while. I think its cute and different and spunky and its so not for every one. But in the end will i keep it? Probably not. It will be just another chapter in the Melissa hair diary.
